Sol features a yellow stone pendant. It reminded me of one of the "rocks" you can find in one of the many rock shops in Colorado. Haha! Anyways, I really liked it when I saw it, so I bought it. The strand has aqua and gold colored beads woven together to have a textured look. A sweet friend Fallon recently asked me to make her wedding jewelry. Of course I was excited to be a part of her BIG day! She actually asked me to do something that I had never done before. She really loves red and wanted to try and incorporate it somehow into her wedding accessories. So, at first I made her a necklace with two pearl strands and one red strand. She decided it was a little too bold and asked to take the red out, which was no big deal. Then she came up with a brilliant idea! She asked if I could make some removable strands, one made with crystals and one with the red. At first I was perplexed because I didn't know how I could pull that off and make it to where you couldn't tell that they were removable. I didn't want to have clasps going every whichway and all. I mean it is her wedding day and who would want that? I finally figured out a way to do it! I made the strands and then had them attach with a small ribbon tied into a bow! So now she can wear the crystal strand for the ceremony and change to the red for the reception if she wants! I am so glad that she asked me to do this because that is just one more fun and unique selling point about ordering customized wedding jewelry from Tallyana Jewelry! Let me know what you think.

I have had so many wedding orders recently (Not that I'm complaining!) that I haven't had any time to just make necklaces for fun! Here are two of the necklace that I have recently designed.

"Jenny"

This first one is a fun and colorful necklace. I don't know if it is just because it has been so cloudy outside lately that inspired me to make something bright, or just my love for color! On the bottom half is two strands, one with yellow and purplish/pink beads, and the other with aqua and crystal yellow beads. The upper part of the necklace has pink beads, textured with what looks like straw and then a couple black accents. It is tied together with a black ribbon clasp for the luxury of wearing your necklace at any length, and for the glamor that it adds!

"Berry"

The next was inspired by this very cute burnt orange dress that I just got to wear to a wedding last weekend. I designed the jewelry for the wedding so I knew that I had to wear jewelry of my own that was super sweet! I decided to go with a cluster of some different charms. I used two real leaves that have been preserved and hand painted. One was 14K Gold and the other with Copper. Then I added some crystal beads and a fresh water pearl cluster that are the same burnt orange color as the dress. It rests on a 14K Gold chain and then tied together with a gold ribbon clasp. Now, it is hard to photograph exactly how it hangs, since it is a cluster 3-dimensional cluster, but hopefully you can get an idea of how it hangs.

Lacey is another one of my new, fabric necklaces. I love it! I actually used lace ribbon, tied it to some Rhodium (like Platinum) chain, and then hand-made a pearl chain strand. The pearls used are freshwater pearls, strung silver posts to make the chain. It is closed off with a ribbon clasp so that you can wear this necklace at different lengths. I am now stepping into some new inspiration in my jewelry, including fabric into my jewelry! Meghan Machon Wedding

This past month I have been working on the wedding jewelry for Meghan Machon. She is a sweet girl who went to U of I and getting married this weekend! She had me design necklaces for her bridesmaids and bracelets for her mom and the groom's mom. The blue necklaces are for the two maid's of honor and the green ones for the bridesmaids. My sister recently commissioned me to make a necklace for her daughter's dance teacher as a thank you gift. All she told me was that she wanted it to be artsy because the teacher was of course, artsy. This is what I came up with! I used a vintage flower pin, but it had no holes to attach to the strand so I had to improvise. I think it turned out really artsy if I do say so myself! Tell me what you think!

Well it has been a long time since I have updated this blog. One of the reasons is because I had a baby and I have been a little preoccupied! Here is my sweet babe! He is my joy!

But, that doesn't mean that I haven't been working. I have focusing my efforts on another one of my friend's wedding! She will remain nameless incase some of her attendants are reading this! ;) She ordered necklaces for the bridesmaids and bracelets for the house party, and then matching earrings for both. I have not photographed the earrings but I wanted to mention it so that you readers can know that I make earrings as well! Here are the photos of the necklaces! This piece was hand-picked by my cousin. She came to me on a Thursday and asked if I could have a necklace done by Saturday. I said yes of course! We met up and went to an antique store to find something that she liked. She picked this beautiful teal flower! She then picked black beads to accompany the flower which I thought helped it really pop out very well. I used my trademark ribbon clasp, but she wanted it longer, which looked great too! It is now officially the beginning of the Christmas season in my book! I love Christmas time, but I am not one to start celebrating it before Thanksgiving. A Fall Wedding!

This wedding jewelry is long overdue. I made the jewelry back in August, but being a teacher and having the school year start, I got a little preoccupied. But, better late than never right! So, here are the pics of the jewelry I made for both the bride and then for the bridesmaids. They were made to match a rust colored dress.

Ok so it has been a really long time since I have posted anything! Things have been busy! I wanted to put the word out there that I now am doing wedding jewelry and accessories. I recently had the opportunity to design and make jewelry for my best friend's wedding. It was so fun and artsy. All of the necklaces were different. To see some of the necklaces on a person, click on this blog post of her amazing photographer. Amanda Donaho is a very talented photographer that was able to capture the wedding perfectly! The pieces of jewelry were from her grandmother's old jewelry, so it was special for her to wear and have as a keepsake.

Olive is a beautiful, elegant necklace. I found this pair of really pretty green vintage earrings that just popped out at me at the antique store. I just couldn't pass them up! I strung one of them with two different strands of the same green color seed beads, and then also another strand of antique pearls. The pendant earring really pops out and draws you in for a look. It is really unlike anything that I have ever seen and is very unique.

Andrea is a vintage necklace to the core. Each bead is from a strand of antique beads. Andrea also has two different vintage pins, one a small butterfly and one like a memorial ribbon. They are both sparkly and eye catching! There are two strands of pearl beads, and then one strand of a very thick, vintage sterling silver chain. It all goes together very well. I was actually watching a movie the other day and one of the characters was wearing a channel necklace that looked just like this one! So, this could be your very own Channel look-a-like necklace, for a lot cheaper!

Vicky is another creation using a real leaf, preserved, and then hand painted with distressed copper. It is a maple leaf, that has a green/aqua look. I hung the leaf on a chain made of Rhodium. Rhodium is very similar to Platinum. It is a made of gold and then has an overlay that is silver in color. It is a very sturdy, thick chain. I then hand made another chain with silver overlay posts, with alternating red, amber, and silver beads strung on it. These leaves are the new hot number with all the celebs! Minnie is a "look-a-like" of a recent necklace Valerie. I really like the look of getting together a bunch of different types of beads and vintage buttons, and them throwing them all together into a necklace. It is kind of like a plethora of whatever I thought looked cool together! In Minnie there are two antique buttons or pieces, two different stones, some vintage beads, and then I made a cluster of black beads to add some more 3-D effects. I was so excited to be able to post this necklace for sale on here. But, today I was showing my jewelry to a friend at her store, and a random customer walked by and asked if I was selling the jewelry that I was showing. Of course I said yes! She looked through what I was showing and then bought this beautiful Minnie! It was an unexpected blessing. I have been praying for the Lord for some encouragement in my business, and I would say that that was encouragement! This is the 2nd necklace of this style that I have sold the first day that it was for sale! So... I will be making more like this. So I made my first bracelet! This bracelet is really neat. My friend Jane gave me these really cool stones and so I made them into a bracelet. I strung them on gold, sheer ribbon, and then added a few of my own stones to it. There are two different strands, but they are attached at two different places so that they stay together. "Raine, down... again!"

I recently had a close call with a scam from Nigeria. But, long story short, I made some other necklaces like the first Raine that I made that are now for sale. They are the same idea, but with different leaves that dangle. I have posted them here so that you can see the creations! I can change the color of the accent beads if you would like! Raine has one of my new leaves in it. The vintage green, distressed ones are my favorite! My mother-in-law was over for Memorial Day and together we designed a necklace just for her. I used the 24k Gold chain, and interlocked links with dark green beads, vintage gold corrugated beads, and pearl beads. I hung the leaf to dangle at the bottom and then added a sheer, gold ribbon as the clasp. I think it turned out very elegant and perfect! Let me know what you think!

This past weekend I got the opportunity to go out the a jewelry show in Chicago. When I was there, I found some really neat new stuff to incorporate into my line of jewelry. This is where Phoebe comes in. Apparently out in L.A., leaves are all the rage. They are real leaves that have been preserved, and then hand painted with 24k Gold, sterling silver, an antique gold color, or a vintage green color. So, I have attached this 24k Gold leaf to a 24k Gold chain. Then I hand-made another strand of chain, with pearls linked in the middle. I think that it is dainty and sweet, and totally cool!

I got my inspiration for Valerie from a necklace that I had seen in a store. I wanted to grab some different looking beads that you would never think to put together and put them together. I used glass antique yellow beads, a navy colored stone, assorted red beads, an antique button, then black vintage beads on the sides. I topped it off with a black ribbon to add a little elegance. Memoir is stunning! A friend bought all the different kinds of pearls at an antique store, along with the broach and earrings, and asked me to create something for her. This is what came out of it all! I think is very eye catching! It is four strands of different size pearls, a bow pin, and some sparkly diamond earrings. This one is a creative necklace commissioned by a friend of mine. She wanted something chunky and navy color schemes. So I found a good mixture of navy, gun metal, and sage colored seed beads. I strung 12 different strands, mixed randomly, and then wove them together. I used a white ribbon clasp, per my friend's request. This necklace turned out really great! Kaleigh was $28. Tiffany is a spring inspired creation. I have made a lot little pendants out of many different color beads: turquoise, red, orange, aqua, brown, amber, and purple. (Some of the colors are a little bit hard to see in the picture. I wish that you all could go to the store and look at it! ) I then attached the pendants to some chain that I made, and then strung two strands of black seed beads to add some length. It has a gold lobster claw clasp and extra chain lengths so that you can choose how long you wan the necklace to hang. It really is a beautiful, bright necklace. Tiffany is $40. So, I am kind of on the antique broach and earring designing kick! I have another beautiful necklace to offer. Meggie uses a simple flower earring pendant. It is made of metal and has one blue topaz jewel and then some smaller diamond jewels, of course the jewels are not real. I attached the earring with a simple strand of pearls which gives this necklace a unique, yet classy look. I used a gold sheer ribbon for the clasp, again for multiple length options. A New Venture!

I am so excited to announce that Tallyana Jewelry can now be found for sale in the Jane Pabon Consignment shop in St. Charles, IL! It is a really cool shop, owned by a Christian woman, who is super nice and really helping me get my feet wet in the retail side of my business. You should all go and check out her shop, there is lots of nice, trendy clothes and shoes for sale there. I have also continued to explore more with antique broaches. I have three different ones that I am going to post as examples. If you have a broach, maybe a family heirloom, that you think you would like as a necklace, just email me and can help you with that! Emily is a smorgasbord of beads and colors! It is definitely one those necklaces that you could wear with anything. I think I used at least one of each of the beads that I have. I know that it seems like a long time since I have posted a necklace. I have had more personal orders lately, instead of just creating on my own. I really do enjoy both. This necklace actually I had in mind of making, but before I could make it I had a friend who asked me if I had anything made in red. I quickly made this one because I knew that she would like it! I sometimes come across inspiration when I am in different stores, looking at lots of different jewelry, and that's where I got my inspiration for this necklace. There is a new favorite in town!! As I mentioned in my previous post, I recently got this really great jewelry book. Lorelai is another one of my creations inspired by this book. I found a pair of antique earrings from this shop nearby, and created an necklace around them! The earring pendants are multi-colored beads strung together into a cluster. I then strung a mixture of amber, brown, red, and orange beads, along with gold chain, and attached them to the pendants. This is by far the most unique necklace that I have made.

Like I said, this is my new favorite. I just love that it is so colorful and bright. I think that it would look great with an evening gown, as well as jeans. I'm not quite sure if I am ready to part with this one just yet, but if you are interested in Lorelai you can email me at tallymj@gmail.com.

A good couple friend of ours gave me a great gift for my birthday... a jewelry book! I was so excited because I got a lot of cool new ideas for necklaces. I was definitely inspired! Jasmine is one of my creations inspired by this book. It is a pretty simple necklace. It is a longer gold chain with two amber colored beads dangling. It is a great, simple addition to any outfit! A Total Re-Vamp

This past weekend my mother-in-law gave me an old necklace of her mom's to "re-vamp." I was excited to take a big, chunky, not too dainty looking necklace and make it into something really pretty and elegant. I wish I had taken a before picture for you! The necklace started as a three tier, brown necklace, and I was actually able to take it apart and make three separate necklaces. Here is what I came up with!

With this last one, I also had an antique broach that I attached and made it part of the necklace. I think that it really went together really well!

I have really had a great time revamping these necklaces. Starr is a very unique necklace! When you look at it, sometimes the beads look gold, and sometimes they look silver. They are very detailed. The necklace is strung with the antiquey gold/silver beads on rods, and black beads on rods. Basically, this is a very hard necklace to describe, so I will just let you look at the pictures!

I was with a friend this past weekend and I really loved the necklace that she was wearing! So, I decided to see if I could find the materials that I needed to make one like it. This necklace is truly a rare treasure. I named this necklace Chel Belle because it reminds me of my sister Chelsea. Her favorite color is the yellow color found in these beads. She too is a rare treasure! I was at an antique store this last weekend, and found these really great beads. The beads are yellow and an orangey-gold color. These beads must be very old! I have taken the necklace that I found, and re-strung the beads and added a new clasp. It is an extremely long necklace, definitely made to wrap around twice, if not three times. Allie is very similar to Clarissa, but has a different color stone. This is a blue/turquoise stone, wrapped with gold wire. I added three smaller aqua colored beads on the wire to just give it a little bit more flare.

I have been inspired by really cool stones lately. I have just been picturing the simplicity, yet the beauty in them. I found these chunky, colorful stones at the store that I had to have. Originally I had a different idea in mind of what I would make, but I am glad with what I ended up with! I took a deep pink colored stone, almost fuschia, and wrapped a little bit of gold wire around it. Then I attached it to a gold chain, and voila! (I have no idea if I spelled that right! Haha!)

Surprisingly enough, this necklace probably looks like it took 3 minutes to make, but I spent at least an hour on it! I wanted the wire to lay just right. Anyways, Clarissa is simple yet very stylish, and very eye catching! It is a longer necklace, the stone lays at the bottom of the chest bone, I am trying to say it discreetly ;o).

This necklace I made for my sister Lea, so I thought it was fitting to name it after her! It is a turquoise and brown necklace, that has two strands of beads woven together. To add a little extra touch, I put a silver chain to hang down with the beaded part. You could wear the chain laying flat, or weave it in to the beads as well. The great thing about this type of necklace is that I could make it in ANY colors you would like!

Andi is a look-alike to a necklace that I made for myself to wear to a special occasion. I decided to make it as another Christmas present! I have gotten many complements when wearing my own rendition of Andi, so I thought that I would put it up and see if anyone else would like their own "Andi" look. It is an assortment of different colored Jasper stones. In between the stones I have thrown in different colored smaller beads to fill in the gaps and add a little bit more color. A Christmas present to remember, well hopefully! I made this necklace as a gift for someone but I just had to share it with you! I loved how "Cha-Cha" turned out! It is a mixture of many different colored beads from red, brown, gold, black, aqua, and pearl. It also has a center stone that is truly unique and one of a kind. It is a blend of brown, red, and yellowish colors. The center stone is wrapped with a little bit of gold colored wire. "Sha la la la la la la la la la la-ti-da!" Every now and then it is good to just bust out singing at the top of your lungs! Haha! Well, now that you know that I am a complete dork, I will move on with my post and my new addition. La-Ti-Da is quite possibly my favorite necklace that I have ever made. I am really enjoying experimenting with my wire and beads. This necklace consists of three separate pendants on an 18 inch gold chain. The largest pendant is a mixture of red beads woven together. The side pendants are a cluster of pearl beads, and a cluster of turquoise colored beads.

The great part of this necklace is that it is so versatile! You could wear the red pendant ontop, the two side pendants ontop, or just be crazy and show all three! SweetGems and Laurel

I have two new additions to add to my collection! The first one, SweetGems, is a new style that I have tried. I have seen some neat things done with wire and beads and so I wanted to give it a try. I have very pleased with how it turned out! I am excited to try some other new ideas along this line! The hanging pendants are made with black and aqua beads, wound with gold wire. They are hanging on a sheer gold ribbon, attached with a gold toggle clasp which gives a choice of three different lengths. SweetGems is $18, plus shipping.

Peanut Brittle and Elle

So apparently now that I have actually started my business, I can't sleep! I am so excited to let you guys see the new things that I have been working on. Actually since I have started this blog, I have finished two more necklaces! The first one I am calling Peanut Brittle.

That is a rust color shell pendant, with assorted brown, gold, and pearl color beads, woven with two wires on the strand. The necklace is approximately 16 inches long, a good medium length necklace. I am selling Peanut Brittle for $20, plus shipping.

My next addition is called, Elle. I think that this is one of the coolest necklaces that I have ever made! I used the same rust colored pendant that is in Peanut Brittle, but the strand of beads has multicolored turquoise beads, small round red beads, and a hint of gold here and there!
